| Waterford is a shoreline town bounded on three sides by water. Long Island Sound is the south boundary, the Niantic River is west boundary, and the Thames River flows by our east boundary. Waterford is a home, a workplace, a shopping place, and a beautiful destination for visitors. The Waterford real estate market is always in high demand mainly because of its proximity to the ocean with its wonderful beaches and the low tax base that Wateford enjoys. Waterford offers many shopping oportunities with the Crytal Mall located here as well as the Waterford Commons shopping Center, a Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes and many more. Waterford also has several large grocery stores such as Stop & Shop and Big Y. The most notable industry in Waterford is the Millstone Nuclear Power Plant. Waterford is also home to the Eugene O'Neil Theatre, Camp Harkness and Harkness Memorial State Park. Waterford has a seperate district known as Quaker Hill, with its own zip code, which is located in the Northern section of Waterford, away from the water. It is for this reason that real estate prices in the Quaker Hill section tend to be a little lower. | |||
